1.The 550 is very agile and stable at speed.

2. Construction is our ultra strong three mould system for all our boats. Firstly the hull is built in the mould and hardwood stringers are laminated into the strakes, a ladder design fibreglass chassis is then laminated into the hull, then the moulded top deck is laminated to the hull.

The pictures show two different versions of the 550. On the left with our cruise jockey console and two double jockey seats powered by the TLDI 90 is the Explore. On the right  with our cruise jockey console and two 1.5 sized jockey seats powered by the latest TLDI 115 is the Sport. 
Both boats handle superbly and are capable of high speed and economical running.  The difference apart from the layout is that the 90 TLDI explore version will average between 5-6 litres per hour and run happily between 35 and 40 MPH, the 115 version is capable of greater speed and acceleration and towing greater loads with ease

Boats can be custom built with a variety of consoles and seating arrangements.

Our full package prices gets you on the water without any hidden extras engine, gauges, controls fuel tank, battery/battery box, trailer ready to launch and go.  We will also supply any electronics/safety gear  you may require at discount prices and fit them free of labour charges.
We can supply the boat on its own or with consoles from other companies such as Outhill. 

As you can see in picture 1 the hull rides very well, the deep vee gives a comfortable ride and the sponsons ride high out of the water when on the plane.  When stationary the rib settles onto its sponsons as in picture 3 giving a stable platform to fish, dive or just sit and enjoy the water on. 

All our ribs are hand laid up at our boat yard in Caernarfon. Our build technique utilises both moulded hulls and decks 2, with full length fibre glass ladder chassis.  Unlike most other rib makes all of the marine grade timbers used are concealed in glass fibre nothing is exposed to the atmosphere inside or outside the hull.

The 550SR was originally based on a modified -vee mono hull design but has been refined over the years to minimise wetted area at speed. The sponsons are set at an angle to prevent drag and spray over all creating a smooth and soft ride.  At slow speeds the craft settles onto the sponsons which afford a high degree of stability. They are designed for beach/surf launching and are built to be strong, to shed water easily and to be agile. 

The 550 is the ideal family sized boat and has many applications, commercially and domestically, they are safe and can handle seas that you would not dream of testing in a ski boat. 

Ribs make a versatile platform as safety/rescue boats for diving, transport, fishing, water skiing or just exploring.
